Ta-da! Here it is! My first Thanksgiving table for my first Thanksgiving that I’m hosting! I am so excited for the big day tomorrow and I’ve been working all afternoon to prep my dishes and of course, set the table.
If you saw my Instagram stories, you may have seen that I was looking for anywhere that still sold little white pumpkins this week because apparently it’s only Christmas wreathes at this point. I was planning on buying like 30 little white pumpkins and creating a beautiful giant heap as my centerpiece. But alas, I was unable to find any pumpkins at all this last week so my precious gem of a mother took the little orange pumpkins she grew in her garden and SPRAY PAINTED them white for me to use!! I know, amazing.
This is the first time we have ever really hosted a formal event and the first time hosting in our new house so we are using things that we haven’t even unwrapped that we got for our wedding like our chargers, water goblets, and china (my mom actually gave me her old china so we are using that). I got our table runner from Target for 1/2 of the price of the Pottery Barn one that I had my eye on. I got the gold pumpkin plates for $3 from Home Goods this year! The greenery is from Amazon and the little glass candlestick holders and candlesticks are also from Target. I borrowed the silver candle holders from my mom. Lastly, I got our super cute cloth napkins from Home Goods. Usually cloth napkins are so expensive (like 4 for $50) but I got this set of 12 for only $16. Crazy.
Okay and finally, I have to shout out Kaylyn from Pirouette Paper for not only being one of my best friends, but for being insanely talented and creating those cute place cards! I was looking for a specific accompanying ribbon to match a photo I saw but couldn’t find what I was looking for so I bought a strip of thin cotton fabric for $0.60 and cut it up and used it in place of the ribbon lol.
So there you have it! Now you have seen my table and my menu and tomorrow is the day of reckoning! Stay tuned to see how my first turkey roasting experience goes!
