Okay you guys LOVED my daily haircare routine that I posted so I decided I would do another for my skincare routine and my makeup routine (that’s coming tomorrow)!
Morning routine:
Step 1: Moisturize!! I am currently using Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream because YES I did in fact get it for Christmas and I am loving it!! It makes my face feel like butter and a little goes a long way and as of now, it’s the best moisturizer I have used. My skin is not dry or flaky at ALL since I’ve been using it. Magic.
Step 2: Sunscreen. I either use the Coola face sunscreen or this Kate Somerville Finishing Spray with sunscreen. I figure that the actual cream is better and more protective but it’s the thought that counts and if I forget to put that on in my early morning haze, I can just spray it on in the end. Or I can use both for a double-whammy and really kick the sun’s butt.
Step 3: Brightening Concentrate. I use NARS Skin Optimal Brightening Concentrate. Tbh, I had my makeup done and they guy used this first and my skin looked flawless by the end so I attributed it to this serum and bought it and I don’t know if it’s a scam but I mean, my skin has been looking good and brightened lately so…..
Step 4: Primer. I use NARS Pore & Shine Control and I love it! It instantly looks like my face has been facetuned and blurred so that’s cool.
Evening routine:
Step 1: Remove Makeup. Since day one, I only use warm water and a washcloth to remove my makeup. I only use soap if I’m wearing a TON of makeup like when I worked at Disney or if I just had a really sweaty workout. Every esthetician I’ve seen is like WHAAAAT but that’s just what works for me. Then I use this to get my eye makeup off.
Step 2: Toner. I use Nars Multi-Action Hydrating Toner. I just started using this again because tbh I forgot I had it. I really have noticed a difference in the color and texture of my skin though in the past couple of weeks and it’s nice to have one extra step to remove the last of my makeup. I just use two pumps of it on a flat cotton round.
Step 3: Moisturize. Back at it again with the Kiehls.
Step 4: Lash Serum. I have been using the Rodan & Fields Lash Boost. I have talked before about how I had eyelash extensions for literally about 8 years, like before it was even really a thing, and I’ve been going without them for almost a year. I was just having trouble finding someone I liked and they were all over-charging in my opinion so I was over it. But since my lashes were puny, I started using this stuff and it really does work!! I feel like they grew a ton right away and now idk what’s up, maybe they’re tapped out, but they’ve started to slow down a bit but nevertheless, I HIGHLY recommend trying this stuff for some growth!
Step 5: Rose Water. I use Mario Badescu Facial Spray. This is the last thing I do before I go to bed. Just a few spritzes on my face and apparently it helps calm your skin (that’s the aloe in there) and is moisturizing. Honestly I just like the smell.
Extras:
Face Tanner: I use Coola Face Tanning Serum. I love this stuff!! I’ll put it on before bed here and there and I wake up with the perfect bronzed glow. It smells tropical and it doesn’t cause any breakouts. I just use one pump and it’s plenty!
Aveda Outer Peace Face Pads: I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about these before but these are MAGIC. I’m not joking. I will use one on my face before bed if I have some blemishes or it is just looking/feeling weird and no joke, my skin looks AMAZING the next morning.
Face Mask: So I really don’t have one magic mask that I swear by…honestly, one of my faves is this cheap little one from Target because it makes my skin so soft! But lately I have been using this Glam Glow supermud mask and I always use a brush to apply it mostly because it just feels really good lol. I like to use clay masks that dry up and get the dead skin off compared to those annoying sheet masks that make you look like a serial killer.
