While we were in California last weekend for Alec’s Birthday Surprise Trip, we obviously went to Disneyland and I was so excited to wear this outfit! I bought it all specifically for this day because I am just *that* extra but after posting this picture on instagram, I got so many DM’s asking where I got my shorts but I actually made them! So I decided to share how exactly I did it!

Now let my clarify the word “made”. I am not a seamstress and I bought these shorts at Old Navy lol. I saw a picture of something similar on Pinterest and decided to recreate them myself just by going on a hunt for a cute Mickey Mouse patch on Amazon.

Here is what you need:

My intention was to just find a cheap pair of denim shorts so I could iron on the patch but these Old Navy shorts fit me so cute that I didn’t want to permanently Disney-fy them! So I opted for some fabric tape and just stuck Mickey on the pocket the day of. It stayed on all day (even after getting soaked on splash mountain) and I got a ton of compliments! You could really do this with any type of patch for any event to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to your look!

Here is the video from last weekend that includes our Disney trip and the insane surprise party in case you missed it:
