Our time in Sydney was short but we made the most of it!! This is also the part of the trip that I began to get strep throat…ON OUR HONEYMOON -_-
ANYWAYS. Sydney totally felt like a mix of Seattle & London to me. The waterfront, the old school architecture mixed with the modern. It felt so clean & safe and almost everything was in walking distance (which was great considering we had an all you can eat breakfast buffet every morning on Hamilton Island, oink).
Our hotel looked right out at the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge. It was amazing! We really packed in as much as we could in this day and a half. We went to the Opera House of course, the coolest mall ever (7 stories, all marble floors, crazy), ate at the top of the Sydney Tower, went to the insane ocean-to-pool Icebergs at Bondi Beach, walked through the Botanic Gardens, found and ate our way through Laduree (twice), had breakfast in front of the Opera House, and went to the coolest Caribbean/ Cuban bar overlooking the harbor. Thank goodness I brought my Nikes (and stretchy leggings!).
Take a look at (a ton) of pictures from this short but jam-packed stop on our honeymoon…
apparently the moon was the closest to the earth that it has been in 200 years that night…good timing!Another one of the few photos we actually have of the two of us! (not in focus but close enough!)These gardens are right on the edge of the city…such a cool contrast!HOT STUFFClassy shot of my new Nikes (Alec even brushed off the grass from the edge of my shoes to get the perf picture. true love)
Only Alec can attest to just how excited I was when we happened upon Laduree. I hadn’t been to once since I was in Paris (yes I know they just opened one in LA but that just isn’t authentic enough for me so I can’t bring myself to go…yet)I mean…GOLD MACARONSDiva modeAt the top of the Sydney Tower (aka the Australian Space Needle)This whole area was packed the night before so we very much enjoyed our morning eating breakfast (macarons) with a view.
Old school……new schoolmy “I really love your smooches but it caught me off guard” faceThis bar, Hacienda, was the absolute cutest (and had the yummiest snacks/ bubblies)
snapchat filters for the win (ps his drink was the best of the whole trip)
That’s my “I’m about to spend more than I should on more macarons than I should” face
cooling down on the cold marble/ dead from the heat/ cocktailsmy face after Alec accused me of copying his pose (you are all learning a lot about my faces today)so tourist-y (but guess what…we actually WERE tourists so I have no shame)the. coolest. thing ever.Alec acting chill even though we were getting blasted by frigid ocean water. Typical.Mykonos, Greece or Bondi Beach, Australia?AURORA place on PHILLIP street…hellooo Disney people!!
